On Sunday 25th July it's the Cornish Dragon Boat Challenge, taking place at Event Square and Falmouth Harbour. Come and enjoy the spectacle, or rope in 15 friends and take part yourself (no previous experience required, apparently!). Details can be found on the website. The event is run by the RNLI, and all proceeds go to support their volunteer crews and lifeguards to continue saving lives around the Cornish coast.






Fowey Classics. Starting on Wednesday 4th August, when the harbour will be full of beautiful classic yachts and culminating with the parade of sail on Friday 6th August.
Fowey has also been chosen as the start of the COUP DE TROIS PHARES, the French classics association's race starting from Fowey to Brest and La Rochelle in France. These classic boats will be arriving on Thursday 5th August and the race starts on Sunday 7th August. It plans to be spectacular as some of these classic boats are over 35 metres long.

Ongoing until 16th August - Olympics Exhibition at Louth leisure centre. An exhibition that is part of the build up towards the largest ever exhibition of British sporting heritage to be held in London for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games is coming to Louth.
Our Sporting Life opens at the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth on Tuesday July 20. It features the story of the UK's role in the Olympics, from its early days through to the current developments leading to the 2012 Games.
Exhibition Dates: Tuesday July 20 to Monday August 16. Open: 7am-10pm Monday to Friday/8am-7pm Saturday and Sunday.

2nd September - Track Day at Cadwell Park for the Morini Riders Motorbike Club. Now in its 28th year - all bikes are welcome especially Italian and British classics - ideal for road bikes and track day first timers. 11th October - Sherborne Pack Monday Fair.
A street market dating back to medieval times, held annually in Sherborne on the first Monday after 10th October - old Michaelmas Day. Although no longer an agricultural fair, it is still a major event in Sherborne with four of the town's main streets becoming full of street traders and food stalls for the day, and a funfair is usually held on the edge of town on the Monday and the days preceding it.






21st - 22nd August: Birmingham V Festival. Weekend music festival at Weston Park near Birmingham. See: http://www.vfestival.com.

23rd September - Fashion Show. Moshulu, Cotton Traders and Edinburgh Woollen Mill at Notcutts Solihull will be holding a charity fashion show in aid of Help For Heroes. Tickets are priced at £5 and are available in-store - all tickets will also be entered into a raffle. Doors open 6.30 and the event kicks off at 7.30.
